“I loved nights like this, where one fun thing led into another and it felt like the universe was conspiring to show you a good time, to show you that you were worth having a good time.”

First read of 2024!

Will be processing this one in therapy (thank god for therapy). Old Enough is the book I wish I’d had at 14, 17, 21… The queer validation I didn’t know I needed even as I am in my safe, happy, queer relationship. Tears were absolutely shed - over love, in mourning, and for the beauty of the expansiveness of queer identity and experience. Thank you for writing this book, Haley.

I was a child. I was just a little girl.

there’s something so captivating about haley jakobson’s writing. the back and forth from present and past and sav’s relationship with izzie is painful to read but it breathes a lot of life, and sav’s relationships with her new friends are a joy to read. a beautiful coming of age.
