I HATED reading this book and I HATED Brown for writing it, but of course it was amazing.

I finally see why people call this “Game of Thrones in Space”. While it reaches similar highs: good character work, complex world and politics. It also has the lows: certain characters not having much to do, but still giving them tons of POVs. (Mustang needed so much more). It ended really well but this wasn’t as cohesive as I was hoping it would be. And also, after you bring like 5 characters back to life, death doesn’t carry weight any more!! Stop doing this!!!!

Emotionally exhausted, from cover to cover. I had to take long breaks between reading sessions because I knew that once I picked it up it would be bloodydamn hard to put it back down again.

Great pacing, great character moments, and some of the craziest plot twists of the entire series. This book will make you laugh, cry, and hate with your entire being!

Pain from first to last page, 10/10

Reread: How I managed to forgot how much gore is in this book is beyond me. Upon reread, it did not disappoint and I'm finally ready to start #6!

Not a fan of the gore, but once again Pierce weaves a complicated, fascinating, shocking and twisting tale. It's beautifully written and often strikes as poetic. These characters stole my heart and I am eager and dreading book 6 when the series finishes.
