didn’t think i would admire a non fiction book as much as i loved this.
Joan Didion's writing is so intellectual and devastatingly beautiful, it forced me to keep reading.
i would recommend this book to anyone that has experienced the loss of a loved one. Didion avoids clichés and is so honest with her thoughts, it feels relatable yet incredibly personal.

Didion’s grief is palpable and I feel like I’ll pick this up again someday when I feel more emotionally resilient.
