For those of you turned off by the first installment I found this one much better. The galactic exposition we all wanted comes sooner. The development of the characters are better. And I am now pining for the final one. There are characters I am invested in, and new mysteries I want solved. I think GA Sloane is a new favorite character of mine... for a dirty Imp. She's got a lot of Pallaeon in her and I love it.

Much better than the first one. I really do love this rag tag group of characters. Much less of the whiney son though which is great. Looking forward to the conclusion.

Si bien no agrega mucho, resulta entretenida.

(This rating is only in comparison to other Star Wars books.)

In the second installment of the Aftermath trilogy, we continue to get to know the cast of original characters as they interact with some of the major players from the movies. Once again, the writing style is certainly something I had to get used to. Overall, I consider this the strongest book of the three, due in large part to the heavy doses of Han Solo.

I did it!

This really dragged on in the first half and only started to pick up speed towards the end, hence the lower rating.

I really loved seeing more of Han & Leia’s relationship. The fight scenes were super cool and the plot in the latter half was good. Unfortunate that I just found the first half a bit bland in comparison.

3.5/5

A horrible book by an awful author, although its nor nearly as bad as Aftermath, which isn't saying much(I'd like to wipe that book from my mind). I hope Wendig is done with Star Wars after the the third book.

This is definitely an improvement from the last book. It's a very insightful look into the New Republic and also how it maybe repeats some of the mistakes of the old. Han Solo, Leia, and Chewie are a delightful bonus to the crew I have grown to like. Rae Sloane is a fantastic character for an imperial. This look into galactic politics in both the Empire and the New Republic along with the places in between is very insightful. I enjoyed it enough to read it in one day that's for sure.

Read my whole review on my blog (the review is for all three books! So it'll contain a few light spoilers): https://eternalporcelaindoll.blogspot.com/2019/05/review-politics-of-galaxy-far-far-away.html

Just like Aftermath, Aftermath: Life Debt was an action-packed good read from start to finish. The plot is well thought out and the story told from a variety of perspectives. I know others have complained about The interludes, but I rather enjoyed them as they help to provide context to what others in the galaxy are going through during the overarching battle between the Empire and New Republic. Can’t wait to read Aftermath: Empire’s End.
