Wow. This book was absolutely amazing. I don’t think I was emotionally prepared for this book because I started reading it on audio while I was at work and almost started crying 😭 

I have never had a book hit me so hard in my privilege. As a white person, I will NEVER EVER know what it’s like to be black. I will never know what it’s like to be targeted by those with badges who are supposed to protect us. This book might be fiction, but it was very real with what has happened and is happening in our very real world. Doing the right thing will always be worth it, even if it seems like it’s not.

THUG LIFE = The Hate You Give LIttle Infants Fucks Everyonbody. This book came out prior to the BLM Movement after the murder of George Floyd in 2020, but the truths are still the same, and it showcases the call for change that still needs to happen. The characters in this story speak their truth, and are able to have transparent conversations in which we all grow. Older generations need to learn from youth today
