A delightful collection of romantic stories with a festive flavour.
Feisty, determined heroines and handsome, aristocratic heroes.
Enjoyable.

I honestly appreciate this book for what it is, but before I get into the review a few notes. First, I noticed that most of the pieces could've used a tad more editing so that's not really affecting any of my individual ratings. Speaking of individual ratings, I decided to take notes and rate each story that you'll see below, and the overall rating you see is the average.

Kidnapping Lord Blaymire
-Not really Christmas; it ended Christmas eve but it's never really brought up. Could take place anytime during the winter.
-Quite a few time jumps, but I didn't mind since it was so short.
-Actually made me giddy at the end, so mission accomplished I guess.
-Fun play on classic fairytale tropes.
-4 stars

The Wallflower's Christmas Surprise
-Love me some mutual pinning.
-Love throwing my Kindle on the ground for historical Christmas romance.
-Didn't make me as giddy, but I think that's just cause I hate epilogues.
-3 stars

I Wrote My Love
-The anxiety is high with this one.
-So far my favorite.
-More Kindle throwing ensued.
-Being as this is my second ever ex-soldier historical romance, and I happened to love them both, is it possible I found a new favorite trope?
-4.5 stars

The Secret Letter
-Just realized all the ones so far have letters as the insinuating of the romance in one way or another.
-I cried I was so viscerally angry.
-I have hatred in my heart.
-Originally I thought it was every male character I hated, but no it's just every character.
-Also didn't like the writing style.
-I knew I couldn't at least enjoy all of these, but this was just pain in the end.
-How old are any of these characters? I guess I'll never know.
-1 star

The Widow and Mr. Cat
-This one is the one I'm most interested in cause it sounds so weird.
-I feel like this is a fever dream, this can't be real.
-I didn't particularly dislike it or enjoy it. It was just a wild time.
-3 stars

Love's Sweet Arrow
-Will this be the one to prove I apparently enjoy ex-soldier romances, at least in historical romances? So far out of the ones I've read I'm 2 out of 2 for having the time of my life.
-It took half a page for the title to make sense.
-Do I perhaps also enjoy childhood friends to lovers?
-Excuse me as I translate Latin poetry.
-With the two main characters not actually spending any time together until the last chapter, I think I would've preferred this as a full-length novel.
-4 stars

When We Were Wallflowers
-I guess this one confirms whether or not I like wallflower romances.
-What I got from the synopsis: notice me Lady Sempai.
-The face blindness aspect is definitely helping differentiate this one from all the others.
-More secret note giving.
-This one just ended up being annoying and had an unsatisfying ending.
-2.5 stars

Spying for the Earl
-Love some romantic chess.
-I can't take this seriously when someone says the name Appleyard.
-The aspect offered just enough to keep me interested.
-This one was kinda cute at times.
-4 stars

The Mysterious Mr J
-Somehow I thought Appleyard was going to be the weirdest name I would read today.
-Wasn't a fan of some of the language used throughout.
-Was kinda bored until the chaos of the last two chapters.
-Real unsatisfying ending; I really wanted to see all those other characters get their comeuppance. -One of the only times you'll see me ask for an epilogue.
-2 stars

Fetch the Earl
-I guess the mystery aspect was fun/new.
-I don't really have much to say about this one except the ending felt icky to me.
