This book is the third book in the Willow Falls series all written by Wendy Mass. This book was about a girl named Tara who is sent to the home town her parents grew up in, which of course is, Willow Falls. Tara meets a mysterious lady, some new friends and gets 13 gifts. But the whole time she is in Willow Falls, she is trying to figure out, why her parents sent her here?

This book is a great story for teens and I recommend reading the whole series! I really liked the way this was written and I like the characters personality. Wendy Mass did a fabulous job

This was a cute story. It certainly wasn't the next Shakespeare, but it was a nice tween story, and especially memorable for me, since it was given to me for my 13th birthday.

The story focuses on Tara, who apparently lacks self-confidence of every kind, and has no friends, even though she's a nice girl. This is the only part of the book I find unrealistic (well, besides the magic part.) There are girls like Tara at my school, and trust me, they have friends.

She also repeatedly gets called by the name Sara, even though "T" and "S" sounds sound nothing alike.

I did read the other two books in the series, [b:11 Birthdays|4835838|11 Birthdays (11 Birthdays, #1)|Wendy Mass|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1328840465s/4835838.jpg|4901046]and [b:Finally|6696465|Finally (11 Birthdays, #2)|Wendy Mass|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1328840468s/6696465.jpg|6892105], both by [a:Wendy Mass|99650|Wendy Mass|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1235153849p2/99650.jpg]. She is very good at understanding tweens, so, if her writing sounds sort-of childish, and sort-of grown up, that's because it's meant to be.

After attempting to steal her middle school principal's goat (what?!), Tara accidentally spritzes him in the eyes with pepper spray and gets suspended.

So, instead of going with her parents to Africa to study mating habits (oh, joy!), she gets stuck in boring old Willow Falls. I would personally, probably rather go to Willow Falls.

She ends up meeting a strange old lady named Angelina, and having to find some random objects for her...hmm...mysterious...
Spoiler I really did think the bit with Tara's parents and the love potion was cute, and the play....well, I loved it! But I was kind of disappointed Emily turned down the audition.

I love how the old characters come back every book. It's so cute...I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book....my guess for the name is....
Fourteen Wishes

Who knows...maybe I'll be right? Can't wait to see what happens with Leo and Amanda!

This is the 3rd book in her Willow Falls series (11 Birthdays, Finally) and by far my favorite. Each book is told from a different person's point of view but intertwines with characters from previous stories, tying all the characters and plots together. Another stroke of genius writing!! Can't wait to read the next one in the series!!!

I've been meaning to read a Wendy Mass book for a while, and this was a suitable introduction. It was very enjoyable, with likable characters, a smidge of fantasy (the kind you hope really exists in the world), and a touch of romance. I will be recommending it to 10-13 year-olds who are ready for more nuanced stories about friendships, but not quite ready for the raw world of YA.

Wendy Mass books are great this one has a fun story that most tweens would enjoy and messages that adults can really think about.

This book's message (among others)
Everyone can do their part to repair the world, and the more you look, they easier it is to spot the (broken) pieces.

This is the third book by Wendy Mass that takes place in the somewhat mystical town of Willow Falls. Both of Tara's parents grew up there, but she has never even visited. She is quite surprised to learn that her overprotective mother is sending her there for the entire summer, to live with her aunt whom she has never met. Once there, she quickly becomes friends with Rory(from book 2) and Leo & Amanda (from book 1). As with them, she has several run-ins with the mysterious Angelina, and is sent on a quest to gather 13 seemingly random objects from around town. An excellent book about friendship, promises, and the differences we can make in the world. Written in Wendy Mass's usual style of humor and excellent story telling, I recommend reading 11 Birthdays and Finally first. You may want to have the fourth book, The Last Present on stand-by, since this one ends in a cliff-hanger. Recommend for grades 4-8.

Not my favorite of this series. That said, it's still funny and middle grade appropriate. Funny, quirky, and at times completely over-the-top. I laughed more than once, but the thing that didn't quite work as well for me was how much happenstance there was (more than in 11 Birthdays or Finally, or maybe I just didn't buy it from Tara as much).
