Book Review: Abducted by T.R. Ragan

Rating:

A solid 3.5 star book. I figured out who the serial killer was very quickly which was a bit disappointing. It kept me interested enough to continue reading the series.

This book had the potential to be more captivating, but I felt like there was a lot of unnecessary inner monologue. Like, a lot. Otherwise, pretty solid read, and I didnt feel anything was predictable.

I found this book on accident. I was looking through Kindle deals of the day and came across this one. I bought it and I am so glad that I did. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I read it. It was truly a great book. I went and bought the next two in the series to read, and will be starting book 2 today. This book would make a great movie.

I was pretty caught up in the storyline, but I feel I have read this story before (and better written). Author uses a lot of the same phrases and metaphors ("he smelled like soap and sandalwood"), and I found the relationships were not believable (the main love story sure, as well as Lizzy and her sister, Jared and Jimmy, etc.). Many emotional/relationship points are presented as fact with no actual support.

It was entertaining though, I admit my star ratings are conservative :) I've just read the "frustrated male serial killer believes he is ridding society of evils by targeting so-called promiscuous or evil women" before.

Also really couldn't take the name "Spiderman" seriously.

Love this book! Finished it today and already 70% done with #2!!

Lizzie Gardner is the only surviving victim of Spider-Man (not the superhero) but a serial killer that had a superhero complex. Spider-Man captured young women that had premarital sex, did drugs, smoked and drank. He fed off their fears and this tortured them with spiders, cigarettes, medical tools.

Lizzie was able to escape, but never fully recover from the torment. Spider man was never captured. For a decade the murders stopped but now they have come back, and even more sporadic.

This book scared the shit out of me, it all felt so real. This was cringeworthy in a psychological sense. The author did a fantastic job keeping you in your toes with a suspenseful, yet well thought out plot

This was a solid story and I liked everything except the last single line of it. I rolled my eyes hardcore. But everything else, I liked.

This book hooked me from the beginning. At just 7% I was already creeped out tucking my toes underneath me checking around for a creepy crawler. The story line, although heard of before, was original in its own way. The killer was creepy as hell and i think its hard to do that because its so common. The whole time through the story i kept jumping from one character to another blaming someone for something. Great thriller and great story.... 5 start not because it blew me away but because it was damn good.

One of the things I love about summer vacation is getting to stay up late finishing a book. But even if it HADN'T been summer vacation, I wouldn't have been able to stop reading. This fast-paced thriller kept me clicking afternoon into evening into late night. The cast of characters is large, but each one was well-developed and fleshed out, especially Lizzy and the villain, who I almost felt sorry for at times. I loved tough Hayley and sexy Jared. I only wish the book had been longer!
