The story and world definitely take some work on the part of the reader to get into, but the investment is well worth it. Graham and Churchland craft a gorgeous and unique fantasy world like nothing you've seen before.

I really loved the artwork in this graphic novel. I also really enjoyed many elements to the world building and plot and found them rather unique for this genre. The ending of the story got a bit muddled but it also kept me thinking and questioning to figure out what exactly happened. I would've really enjoyed seeing this as a series to learn more about this world and these characters.

Arclight is a mesmerizing story that demands its reader pay attention - a demand that is, at times, difficult to meet given that the beauty of its art is truly distracting. I would recommend working through this volume even if you feel confused by it because the art is fantastic.

The artwork is delectable, but the plot is really confusing and I'm still not sure what happened. I might give it a second read through but I'm not sure I'll pick up more.

Update: I reread this and the plot made a lot more sense the second time through.
