I very much liked the way the book meandered around between anecdotes, historical facts, virtual geographical tour, political commentary, and personal thoughts. It covered such a range of interesting, surprising, comforting, and challenging topics, in a way that bounced around but it always felt that it landed where it intended to.

Very heartwarming and thought-provoking. It should be mentioned, however, that while I am a massive fan of Toksvig and found her story captivating, it was a bit all over the place at times. It's obvious thay this was a concious choice of narrative style, but I suppose it didn't completely appeal to me personally.
I still enjoyed though. Would recommend it to anyone who, like me, is interested in the witty, wise and warm character that is Sandi Toksvig.

I really enjoyed this book. I have always liked Sandi Toksvig but I never realised how interesting her life has been! I enjoyed her reflections and musings, inclusion of local history, and was saddened yet inspired by her accounts of discrimination for being gay, and her passion for feminism.
