Phenomenal. Sandi is witty, insightful, delightfully tangential, and overall a fantastic writer. She successfully combines her surroundings on the 12 bus route with autobiography, anecdotes, and witticisms. Able to make heartfelt interrogation into how she feels she was formed as a person, Sandi invites the reader to examine their own lives, gently and with good humour. I rarely write reviews on this site, so, dear reader, please know that this was a really, REALLY great book.

What an amazing way to write an autobiography, intertwined with the history of the stops, streets and landmarks passed by the Number 12 Bus. I feel as if I'm sitting next to her listening to stories from her life, in no particular order, sparked by what is seen out of the window. Highly recommended.

This book is an awesome mix of history, travel, feminism, humour and biography. Hilarious, surprising, relatable, heartbreaking and inspiring. I’ve always liked Sandi Toksvig but after reading this I now LOVE her! She is my new idol, full of wisdom and laughter that I desperately need right now. Thanks Sandi!

We listened to this as an audiobook on a weekend away. Having Sandi in the car with us has been a delight. Her stories about London and it’s people interspersed with stories of her life. Charming.
