When last we left our plucky band of inadvertent explorers of the astral, they were defending the galaxy's biggest secret, and trove of its most powerful tech, against warships from every empire in the galaxy. Should be nothing but peace and quiet after that, right?

This novel is clearly the opening salvo in another galaxy-shaking long arc. And Morin pulls no punches. I look forward to the revelations of more Vaieen mysteries. Will we learn the origins of intelligent life in the galaxy? Only if some of our heroes survive!
