I appreciated seeing more of the town's structure and the main character's POV is interesting. Like previously, the romance isn't the important part. Enjoyable

slow paced but not in a good way. meet cute is like halfway through the book and then the pacing is break neck.

reads like a supernatural blogger fanfic from tumblr.

i really enjoyed the main characters interactions with just about everyone. will check out the rest of the series.

Read this a couple of years ago and loved it, now it was more just a mediocre experience. I'm just really not a fan of this level of insta-love.

I'm beginning to understand this series more, I read the author's notes about there being nine books total and each couple will get their HEA so the HFN will have to do for me, not that it is a bad thing. Jesse and Sean are great together, what little time they had together in this book. There is more story-building than relationship-building but that's fine, the story-building has to set up everything that happens between all the couples.
I enjoyed this book, it's building a mystery in a paranormal town with great characters but if you are looking for a book full of the two main characters having sex on or off page this is not the book for you.
I'm looking forward to book 3

Not enough werewolf and succubus cuddles for my liking but still a lovely read

Enjoyed once again - 3.5*
I would say more of an information book for the series plot arc, though Jesse does find his mate it was quite a background event, though they are in a positive place.
Still lots of hooks and questions to resolve.
In the afterword the author does say it is a trilogy of trilogies socharacter and plot development will be drawn out I guess.
Do like the art work. Will be getting the next one for sure.

The alpha

The time has come for Jesse to pick up the mantle of Alpha. There is an unknown danger in Rowan Harbor and his job is to protect. Great reading!
