It pains me to say, but think I'm done with the Guild Hunter series.

One of my favouite books in the series so far! It was packed with banter, a complex romantic relationship, and enough chemistry between the two main characters to keep me interested in what was happening.

Ash and Janvier have had an attraction for decades, but have not taken their relationship further due to Ash's complicated ability to sense the secrets of those she touches. This will come to a head as the duo investigates a series of brutal murders that have echoes of an enemy supposedly long gone.

I enjoyed the bond between Ash and Janvier. It was fresh and fun, since both Ash and Janvier are likeable and have a good deal of charisma. Because their chemistry had been established, it made the romance believable and never felt like it was going too fast.

The story was self-contained, though long time fans will see plenty of familiar faces to keep them going. There is action, romance, complicated family bonds, and enough of a brutal mystery to keep fans of thrillers engaged. A fun addition to the GUILD HUNTER series, ARCHANGEL'S SHADOWS comes recommended!
