I think this series - especially the ending - will frustrate a lot of people, but I really enjoyed it. It just feels like the creators were having a lot of fun riffing on superhero archetypes and cliches, whilst building a really impressive, cohesive universe at the same time. It's melodramatic and clever and also a bit daft; just how I like my comics.

Black Hammer started out being one of my favorite comics in recent memory. But after reading the finale I'm a little disappointed. Jeff Lemire has always been one of my favorite writers and I loved how in every volume of Black Hammer he always did something different. Yet this ending felt rushed and it ended with a fizzle rather than a bang. Deep down I hope there will be some side stories of Black Hammer in the future but who knows if it'll happen.

I'm. So. SATISFIED. Ask my cats how many times I was like, "yes" or "NICE" while reading this book.

The Creator bit was dumb, and the end of the arc ended a little too sweetly, but at least the art was cool.

This would be a five, but god do I hate that opening story that once again, creators feel the need to put themselves in a story.

There's part of this volume that really works against the concept as a whole, and it almost seems like a throwaway bit, but it wraps up with you stoked on the reality-hopping/dismantling/reshaping adventure.

Once the mystery disappeared last volume, it ended predictably and meh-ed me to sleep.

A satisfying conclusion to an excellent story. I'm excited to see where Lemire takes this universe.
