Adorei adorei ❤️

it’s a fun little romp (on chicken legs) that has some heartbreaking moments and is lovingly written, but it feels like the story doesn’t understand itself well enough to feel coherent

Opinión Personal: https://librodepapelinfantiljuvenil.blogspot.com/2023/10/la-casa-con-las-patas-de-gallina-12-18.html

Novela infantil /juvenil +12 años. Crecimiento Personal.

An absolutely delightful read. Great story, great characters. Highly recommended for middle grade readers looking for a bit of punch to their fantasy stories.

A bittersweet story of appreciating what you have while you’ve got it. This story successfully brought to life a house made me love it.

This was a quick read, but full of emotion and heart. It wasn't always what I had expected, or the book I'd want my child reading at the moment. Even so, it did have a lot of moments that meant something, stood for something, and that's definitely a plus. At times, the main character was too much to handle, an attitude that I could have done without, but as the story progresses the reader can see why it's needed.

I wasn't as fond of the chicken legs on the house. I loved the concept, the need to move, where it led everyone involved, but somehow seeing chicken legs led my mind to a different type of story. Yes, it added a more whimsical tale to this, but I would have liked the house moving due to something more supernatural. It would possibly be more spooky in an adult setting, but I also get that this is a middle grade story, so I'll take it. Just feels a little out of place.

Okay, okay enough about that. Aside from the legs, and a few other tidbits, this is a pretty emotional read, with an elderly couple lovingly passing through the celestial gate, a young girl who realizes she is so much more than just the child her parents "left behind", and a growth done so perfectly well. And even more so, it's a really unique type of story, that changes pace as the chapters move along. Really nice, fast-paced read.

Such a beautiful little story about a girl finding her place in the world. I’ve always loved stories about Baba Yaga, but this was something so different and wonderful. I would gladly read it again and again!
