This definitely brought the nostalgia of my childhood and I was just as enraptured in this story as an adult. There is surprisingly a lot of world-building in this book for a children’s book!

This was the last book of the series I read (read in publishing order), and honestly I didn’t love it as much as I’d hope I would. I found the main characters less likable than most of the other books, and I felt like not much happened with regards to the plot.

While some of the other imagery of spirituality & religion moved me in the other books, it didn’t as much in this one. I feel like the writing was much more descriptive and more “adult” than say LWW, but the morals and themes were more childish.

Although this series wasn’t  written for adults per se, I’m glad I read them as an adult!

Simply well done and beautiful. Everything was lined up for the next book in this series, though much of this was not mentioned (as I recall) in the movies, I really enjoyed learning about the origin and declaration of Narnia, learning Polly and Digory's story, and to know it is because of Digory that we have the curious Lucy being able to show us this beautiful world at a different time. Aslan is remarkable, Uncle Andrew, as expected is not a fan favourite (even though he changed his ways at the end), and the Queen was simply annoying. Loved this nostalgic read. Looking forward to the others.

It took me a bit to get into this book, but once I did, I really enjoyed the story.

This book reminded me a lot of Alice in wonderland and the humor in the writing reminded me of the first Harry Potter book.
