A fantastic, heartfelt finale which tied things up nicely and gave the reader closure. A far better written conclusion to a series than The Blood of Olympus. These last two books were the strongest in the series and some of the best books Rick has written. What a wonderful exploration of friendship, change, self discovery, loss, and humanity for all it’s worth.

Apollo wanders the serpent’s lair alone
Leaving camp half-blood and new rome,
Facing the final fight to return home
Blood turns from red to ichor in chrome
But a feeling he still cannot fathom
Glory was never about the throne

I loved the TOA series and the universe in general is so amazing. Loved to see how the books in the Riordan verse got more and more inclusive. The book showed how Apollo has developed over the five books and all the characters were so fleshed out and lively. This book was a great conclusion to an era, but it is sad that no more books are to follow.
