A MILLION STARS! This was amazing. I love everything about the tone and the brilliance of Floralinda's development, and Moira Quirk's audiobook performance is just top tier. I couldn't do anything until I'd finished listening, I was so hooked.

This was wilddd - completely turned this genre on its head and I really enjoyed it
Pretty violent and gory but a really good read if you don’t mind that and like fairy tale like stories

I love Tamsyn Muir’s writing style and especially the humor that is absolutely dripping from every chapter.
This was a pretty gruesome tale of a princess stuck 40 flights up a tower, and no princes have managed to reach her. Floralinda is petulant and sweet at the same time, and she meets a friend that’s every bit as horrible as she is, but both are delightful. It was very fun to watch this princess grow and change from the timid girl waiting in the tower, to taking charge of her own fate.
I’m knocking a point bc I truly cannot tell what the setting is for this novella. It’s delightful but all of the present day type references can really throw me, although I also think they’re great for getting understanding across very quickly for a reader, which matters for a book this short, and I don’t think I would have enjoyed this as a full length novel
