Very nice book. Monster romance in a way, but mmc is very humanoid.
I really liked how the romance was slow burn. Being from different beings they had to get used to each other’s appearance which was funny. This book made me laugh quite a few times which was surprising.
I enjoyed it.

Ohhh how i loved this book!! The banter was so good and funny, I laughed snorted so many times. Usually I hate slow burns but this was SO worth it. The book is well written and fast paced. If you're looking for a quirky monster human spicy romance with loads of banter, this is the one. It had serious parts and is part of a serious that I can't wait to read more of!
Can't lie, this book was pretty romantic but it didn't have a deep plot or very much adventure... Which, for me, is the whole point of reading a book like this. I loved the connection between Brishen and Ildiko but that's not enough to keep me interested in a book. I also wasn't very excited for the way the story turned in the epilogue to be perfectly honest... Sorry, but this one just wasn't for me...

Are you ready for the SWEETEST cinnamon roll ever? An adorable meet cute moment, hand-kisses and small touches, respect and adoration, loyalty and laughter, some bloodshed here and there. This is an incredible book, I absolutely adored Brishen and Ildiko! It is so refreshing to have two smart, witty, mature adults who charm each other with their personality and disgust each other by their physicality. This book had me smiling and giggling, highlighting everything and drawing hearts everywhere cause they’re so adorable. I wasn’t annoyed at them even once, and an FMC who didn’t frustrate me at all was a new and lovely experience for me haha. This is my first time reading friends to lovers and Brishen is perfect, funny, respectful, and loyal. From the very beginning, his wife is priority. Her before everything. It’s so heart warming. I loved the little affections he shows her, the pacing of their relationship, and I’m very happy we have both POVs.
The last 20 % had a big tone shift! Things got gory, violent, and intense . It disrupted the cozy feel but I would still call it cozy overall and it had a sweet HEA. The epilogue however, which is not focused on the couple, is grim and sets up for the next book.
There are spicy scenes, open door, but they’re not very intense or in depth imo. I wouldn’t consider this a smutty book. It’s a looong time before they even kiss. He is very affectionate though, and most touches are instigated by him.
I will say that I enjoy the writing but I don’t love it. It is a self published book and reads like one. It would benefit from a revision by a professional editor. It had grammatical errors, including using the wrong pronoun in an otherwise cute and highlight worthy moment. Also, the writing structure threw me off sometimes with the way it jumped around time wise. Along with that I wish it was a little more show and a little less tell. There were some logical errors as well, nothing too important though.
