Creo que simplemente no fue para mi
Los personajes y la trama me parecieron indiferentes, no podía importarme menos lo que pasara y la verdad tampoco es como que pase mucho o tenga mucha acción

This was okay. I honestly thought there was some great chemistry between the leads, but beyond that there just isn't a whole lot going on in this book and it ultimately felt pretty forgettable

Fantasy romance done very well! The concept of arranged marriages is totally done over in many romance books but this added the twist of difference species. I like that the romance and developed around friendship and turned into something more and was just generally heartwarming and felt like a good slow burn. It helps that both main characters were good natured and open to their circumstances. The plot was a little slow at times and I get that since it was primarily a romance with a side of plot. I assume much more will happen in the second book.

The plot was okay but the couple was 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

I revisited this one in audio before reading the sequel. I forgot about that creepy ending! Don't get me wrong. It's an HEA as far as their love goes, but his mother... sheesh! The final chapter is a scary prelude to the sequel.
The audio reader; Gabrielle Baker was pretty good.

...........original review
Brishen of the Kai and Ildiko of the Guar. In a world where humans and the Kai live side by side and exist in a kind of medieval time with magic and strange creatures. Two separate species, one human and one not. Neither species finds the other attractive. In fact, they find them pretty darn repulsive. And yet, Brishen and Ildiko are to be wed in a politically arranged match for the purposes of trade. Fortunately, MCs have a sense of humour and open minds. From their first meeting, they are honest with each other and OK with their marriage. They both knew that due to their status' in either kingdom, they would likely be required to make a politically motivated marriage. They are just happy that even though their spouse isn't attractive, they are interesting, understanding and respectful. It could have been worse eh? This is a story about political intrigue, evil and love found in the most unlikely of places. Super romantic!!
The ending is more of an HFN than an HEA, but not really a cliffhanger. But still, I HAVE TO READ the next one! If only to just get more of Brishen and Ildiko.

Well this was just the sweetest love story

Still adorable
