While not a perfect series, Sara Shepard's Lying Game books were fun and twisty mysteries. The characters were mostly great, the plots engaging, and the final book packed a punch. I look forward to what Shepard does next.

Well, the next victim of Emma's paranoia is her mother, Becky. A whole bunch of drama re-enters Emma's life when Becky visits town and seems to have sinister motives. Perhaps she's Sutton's killer?

The 5th book in the series sort of deviates from the extremely predictable plots in the first four books. The mama drama is sort of exciting and INTENSE which really got me hooked on the plot again. Unfortunately Emma still seems oblivious, and none of the characters are overly compelling.

Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed in this one. The story really reinforced negative stereotypes regarding mental illness. Even though things were resolved in true YA fiction fashion, I found the plot a bit lazy in this one. Again, I feel like the author is drawing out the series with potential suspects that lack any weight or intrigue. Still psyched to finish the series, because geez I just gotta know now.

So I finished this one yesterday night, and it was great and all, but seriously, the next one has to be the last one. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy this books, but by now everyone has been a suspect. And I'm pretty sure I know who is the killer, but I've known since the 4th book.

Spoilers!!!
Now that Thayer suspects something is off about "Sutton", will he figure this out by himself? Or is Emma gonna tell him the truth? Because I think he's the only one she really can trust. Plus I hope they do end up together.
But anyway, the ending was great I did not see that coming!!!

Spoiler
Becky's name is cleared as the prime suspect to killing Sutton. Nisha's body is found dead in her swimming pool. She knows something about Sutton's killer and this is what got her killed. Something is going on with Ethan. Is he bad? I can't wait to read the next book and FINALLY find out who killed Sutton!

MEEP. That was a bit better than the previous. Still annoying from time to time. I think I know who the killer is, for sure. If I'm right, Emma is REAL stupid and blind.

Not a great moment for the series, I don’t think I liked anything about this one except the fact that it means I’m almost done.
