I found this very entertaining, the interactions between Emma and Becky are frightful and realistic. I was torn with the ending, it was very heart breaking. I would have preffered a deeper analysis of mental illness instead of it being glossed over, but it was still an entertaining book. Vertainly the best of the series so far.

Five books into the series and still Sutton's killer is not revealed? Argh this is getting a little old. I mean how many more books can the author stretch this for?

Anyway, I did enjoy the book. There is just something about mystery and wealthy teenagers eh? In my head I was wondering what more new ideas could the author bring to this series? Another party? Another Lying Game prank? There were quite a number of juicy and interesting new things that came up in this book. Firstly was the reappearance of Becky, Emma and Sutton's mother.

Then there was the new girl Celeste who creeps Emma out and is very smug towards her. The girls decide to target her next. Emma is caught between Thayer and Ethan. She loves Ethan but Thayer cannot seem to let go of her fully. Emma feels herself growing close to Thayer as well. You can imagine some really silly jealous scenes between the two guys. Guys will be guys! Then of the reappearance of Becky, Emma begins to suspect Becky may have murdered her sister and goes on to investigate. I cannot believe Mr and Mrs Mercer are her grandparents and Laurel her aunt! Laurel is younger than her!

For one thing,
Spoiler I was surprised that Emma and Ethan had sex
I know that the Lying Game series like many YA books has many make out scenes and romantic dates but that is as far as it goes so this took me by surprise. I guess because I feel the emotions never goes deeper or further than that. The level of the emotions and honestly, maturity of the characters despite their age made me feel that sex was not really that natural a thing for them. That is how I felt the author portrayed her characters. Further more, the book's target audience is not exactly older teens but younger. I actually thought from the way Emma talked that this was something in the far off future that they would think about.
Spoiler Not let's do it in the back seat of the car!

To conclude this, I am annoyed at how the book ends again, a promise of a new story to come after for sure. But I did enjoy reading it from start to end. I would love to read the next book but am curious as to what else the author can come up with to make this series go the distance.

But seriously, hurry up and reveal who the heck the killer is!!!!!!!!!!!

Please Sara Shepard stop while your ahead. Even though I know that I will read every single one of the PPL series or LG series; I wish she would stop before it becomes a joke. I do find her writing fun and light which in this day and age is sometimes needed, but stop dragging on a series just to sell books. I wish she would end both of these books and start fresh and new.

AHHHH!! I'm going to go crazy! I don't want to wait for the next book! Why can't I be Sara's BFF and call her up and be like "yo Sara...gimme the details!" Wow! What a ride that was! That ending! Those secrets! How many more secrets are there?! I need to know! I just want to shake Emma and just yell in her face that I know who it is. I just know...I can help her solve this mystery! That ending left me sad. The first....ohhhh I don't even want to say it.

This series is terrible. Don't even start, but it's too late for a completionist like me. UGH. BREATHE, it's just one more book. Just one more...
