Cute rom-com that hits all the beats we expect, but with funny dialogue and enjoyable characters and romantic tension. I like to listen to Sopie Kinsella books, and I find myself smiling and wishing for more headphone time. I've heard these kind of books referred to as a "palate cleanser," which feels mildly snobby... but accurate. Frothy and fun.

Really disliked this book! Emma was not likable at all and most of the characters were awful.
3.5/5 for how funny and unique I thought it was. This was not really swoon worthy, or steamy at all. So, if your sense of humor isn't the same as mine, you may not have as good of an experience.
The writing isn't the best (I've never seen so many exclamation points in dialogue), but the story was fun enough to keep me hooked. The main character was overly quirky, but in a more unique way than I've read recently. I was also happy with the way she reacted to the main conflict, I think it was actually warranted and made sense! (which can be a rarity with romance books).
Side note, someone needs to throttle Jemima. Worst character I've read in a long time, but I know that was on purpose. I really wanted to see her get what she deserved.

This wa a re-read for me, first read was in highschool ? J'ai commencé à me rappeler de certains faits au fur et à mesure que je lisais et j'avais déjà en tête le secret que cachais Jack à Emma. J'ai probablement lu tout les romans de Sophie Kinsella à l'époque 🤣
