An absolute gem that managed to perfectly capture Randall Munroe's XKCD-brand of humor and convert it to book-form. Downright laugh out loud funny at times, fascinating, and even manages to squeeze in a profound commentary on the human experience. The artwork and footnotes sprinkled throughout were the perfect cherry on top.

Bizarre, refreshing, and fascinating. I listened through on an audiobook as I did chores and ran errands, but I found messes rewinding over and over to hear explanations and fully grasp incredible concepts. The author does a a great job of breaking things down so the average person can understand rather than using a ton of jargon. My favorite sections were the chapters where the author just lists weird and concerning questions that were submitted (normally without answering them).
That was a wild ride. I can't really say that I LEARNED anything... But, I'm not sure that was the point.

Okay, I will admit, I was a 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐞 XKCD fan all through high school so was thrilled when @fictionalyme recommended me this audiobook for my stress free July.
It’s hard to describe this book other than saying it is a compilation of answers to the intrusive questions that plague a person at two in the morning. In shorter words: it’s pretty unhinged. 😂
The narrator for this audiobook was Will Wheaton, who did such a great job in creating the atmosphere for the book. I’ve loved him in pretty well everything he’s done and he narrated this with a level of hilarity I almost wasn’t prepared for.
Here are some of my favourite questions answered in the book:
🔬If everyone pointed a flashlight at the moon, could we see the dark side?
🔬 What if everyone only has one soulmate?
🔬 How dangerous is it, really, to swim in a pool during a thunderstorm?
🔬 If we hooked turbines to people exercising in gyms, how much power could we create?
The absurdity is unlimited and I had way too much fun learning entirely useless factoids with this book. Highly recommend!
