Not as good as the originals of course, but well written nonetheless. I'm glad I found this series.

It's no J.K. Rowling, but if you separate it from the Harry Potter series and think of it on its own it's a great book!

Man patika.

James Potter and the Hall of Elder’s Crossing was, surprisingly, quite good. It originally being fanfiction, I had some qualms about reading it, but I was delighted to see that the quality of writing, while it may not be as good as jkr’s, was brilliant.

He has captured smallest details of the wizarding world so perfectly alongside a fairly interesting plot, it is hard not to get sucked in. Especially when you see characters from the original series.

I’d always known there was something up with Ralph but damn! I hadn’t foreseen
Spoilerhim being a dolohov with a squib for a father!?!?!?

It was a good spin-off, I must say and I'm eager for more.

I loved this! I cannot even believe that [a:G. Norman Lippert|1127619|G. Norman Lippert|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1247883934p2/1127619.jpg]is offering this book, and the two next books in the series, for free. It was so hard to leave these beloved characters behind and not KNOW about what life at Hogwarts was like for Harry and Ginny's children, and for Ron and Hermione's children as well. For so many of us, by the time we finished reading JK Rowling's books, the Hogwarts clan was like family, and to be able to catch a glimpse of their lives as adults, and the lives of their children, is wonderful. Such a sentimental read. Can't wait to read the next two!

www.jamespotterseries.com - the books are free for download for kindle and nook!

Not quite the same as JK Rowling but this book was good on its own. I really liked that the author added in little bits from the Harry Potter series and added in his own ideas about Hogwarts.

I'm a big fan of the Harry Potter series so when I found out this book existed I had to read it even though it isn't written by Rowling.
And, while you can notice by the way of writing that this isn't a work of Rowling, this book is enjoyable. It adds new elements to the Potter universe like an American school for wizards, new adventures and of course loads of new characters. This is enjoyable because it is still the world of Harry, Ron and Hermoine and they and lots of the other characters do return even though the focus isn't on them anymore. This gives the story in a way kind of a nostalgic feel to it even though they are all grown up. It is fun to see how they are doing and even more fun to read what their offspring is (going to be) doing.
I think any Harry Potter fan would enjoy this book, it is a good replacement since Rowling hasn't written anything new about it.

I have never read a fan fiction book before. I was pleasantly surprised how excellent this book was written and threw me back into the magical world of Harry Potter through his son James.
