Although this is not written by JKR herself I am grateful to GNL for extending her story as best as he could though James's eyes. It's a nice to visit this world again, I've missed it so much. :)

Wow! I loved this book! I was sad when the Harry Potter series ended, so when I heard about the James Potter series, I had to get it. I'm so glad I did! This book was amazing and definitely lived up to my expectations! I'll be reading the other four books in the series for sure! If you loved the Harry Potter books the way I did, you'll love this series, too.

This was entertaining. Although it was more because I am a Harry Potter fan then the writting itself. But hey with no new Harry Potters coming out this was better then quiting cold turkey.

WTF is this for ableist, racist, sexist crap. Making the only black and disabled character into a stereotypical villain. And nobody seems so have called the author out about this yet, that I've seen? The whole book long I hoped it would be the plot twist, that she'd turn out to be the good one in the end. But none of it. Just racist descriptions of her as the "voodoo queen" and ableist descriptions of her blind eyes as a horror spectacle. What a boring one dimensional stereotypes repeating fuck of a book this is. Don't read it.

2 stars for the attempt. But halfway through I gave up. It is not the same. It will never be the same.
Also, there are some aspects that are too much out of character I just could not overlook.
Oh. And BTW, too many American people.

I was pleasantly surprised by this "piece of fan fiction". If you miss Harry Potter it's a fun read.

This book picks up right where the 7th book of Harry Potter leaves off. Harry is putting his son James on the train. James is in his first year at Hogwarts. On the train James meets Zach and Ralph, two other first years, and they become friends but they aren't sorted into the same houses. James is trying to live in his Dad's shadow and when what looks like a plot to resurrect Merlin plays out before him, the 3 boys take it upon themselves to solve the puzzle.

This book/series was surprisingly entertaining and answered a few questions that J.K.Rowling let hanging at the end. Lippert writes in the style of Rowling and yet he is not trying to ride on her coattails by any means. He has offered these books as free PDF's.

If you want to read this book search for it on the internet.

This was an excellent book and a must-read for anyone who was upset at the end of the harry potter series just because it had ended. The plotline is interesting with many twists and turns and is different from the harry potter series except for a few parts.... I am glad that I read this book and will continue to read the series.

While it is not by J.K. Rowling, this was a brilliant piece of literature true to the series wee fell in love with and helped ease some of my Post Potter Syndrome while leaving me wanting more.

Rowling
