Very clever, may not be canon but you still get the magical feel of J.Ks world. Beautiful, can't wait to read the 2nd one

Although I never saw myself reading fan fiction, this book was quite cute. He captured the world fairly well and though not as perfectly as the original design, it was close enough for nostalgia.

The story was cute and very 'Potter'esk. The introduction of Merlin was kinda a bummer. Him most likely becoming headmaster also a bummer, seemed to try to replace Albus, and I rather liked seeing Minerva in a more crucial role.

Zane and Ralph are food times. I also enjoy Ted being along. I hope more comes with the four of them and the gremlins. Also that more Lupin develops in Ted.

I don't read a lot of fan fiction, but this is certainly fan fiction at it's finest... plots, themes, character development, mystery, intrigue, and magic (the literary kind as well as the wizarding kind).

A pleasant return to the "Harry Potter" universe, but definitely not up to the original's quality.

This is my first ever fan fiction novel, I must admit that for fan fiction it wasn't a bad read.
Aimed more for the junior audience it does have the same type of adventure/suspense found in jk rowlings books, but all the same the characters evolved and it was interesting but long at the same time.

The story follows James who enters hogwarts in his first year, he feels like he is a shadow of his famous father and that he has to live up to something.
While on the train he meets Zane and Ralph muggle burns who don't know him or his history.

From there we follow their adventures while they try to stop the return of a wizard from the past.

G. Norman Lippert's fanfiction has been a longstanding favourite amongst the Harry Potter fandom for years. When I first read James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing I absolutely loved his interpretation of the characters and world we'd come to know, as well as the exploration of new ones. Still by far one of the best picking in the HPFF hall of fame, it's not really my cup of tea like it once was. There are a lot of flaws in it but none of them are worth the side eye or disinterest in the story itself because despite this, and despite my low rating, it is a fun and enjoyable read that is quite reminiscent of the tone that J.K. Rowling set all those years ago.

G. Norman Lippert has his own heart and flare to him; this shows in the writing. I know a lot of you are looking at my rating and thinking, "Did she hate it?" and I certainly did not. It's just one of those reads that doesn't strike the same chord each time and during my second (maybe third?) reading of it, I found it just wasn't as great as that first time. I think it's perfect for the audience that craves more of the world of Harry Potter and the next generations' story--it will certainly appeal to fans who disliked the script for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and then some.

Overall, it's light and enjoyable.

Not bad for fanfic but it fails to capture the sense of magic and wonder of the originals. The characters fleshed out in the originals were also OOC for some parts. I didn't read the last 20 pages, I was too bored and just wanted to be done with this book.

The end was choppy.
But I likes the style better than the originals (and they are similar enough to not confuse).

I think I have found my new favorite fiction author! I loved this book!!!

Incredibly well written for being fan fiction. It's detailed and the story line was strong. Visiting all my favorite characters again was quite a treat. If you miss HP, give this a read.
