I tried to be more lenient with this one but I just couldn't manage it. The idea of the novel wasn't bad at all, it was just so poorly executed. I mean the old characters sounded nothing at all like their original selves, and while I do appreciate the author's own input the difference was unbearable for me. And don't get me started on the other modifications at Hogwarts and the wizarding world.
Quede por descontado que no me molesta nada leer fan-fics, siempre y cuando se respeten las normas del juego. Esto es, se sea fiel al universo (unos conejitos me están mirando muy mal mientras escribo esto) y a los personajes que aparezcan. Este fic empieza incumpliendo desde mi punto de vista algunas de las características del mundo de Harry Potter (entre ellas la "desaparición" de varias de las razas de criaturas mágicas, como pueden ser los centauros) pero a cambio nos ofrece una historia perfectamente encuadrada en lo que queda del universo. Quedando además de una manera muy correcta como historia per se.
Pero vayamos al meollo de la cuestión. Lo que me decidió a leerme este fic no fue otra cosa que la controversia acerca de si se había publicado como novela o no. No, no se ha "publicado" pero si se ha publicado en el sentido de estar disponible para todos.

This was an entertaining read, and I liked meeting new characters and seeing how the old ones had developed. However, I enjoyed the original series significantly more. This can only be expected, as this is essentially fanfiction in a book. I felt that some characters were not gotten quite "right", such as Hagrid and Peeves. On its own, this was a good book, but not much compared to its predecessor.
This author has a very different writing style than Jo's, but it was decent overall. Besides some parts that I didn't exactly find believable, the story was very Harry Potter-esque.

okay.. it took a long time to finish it.. I will give 3 of 5 ratings..
the story is great enough, it can remind me how much I missed this book series..
and old charactera also back..
unfortunately, the character of james potter quite gloomy abd always compare his dad and him. he really annoyed when he is not accepted as gryffindor quidditch player.. I think in the other novels he will stay live in his dad's shadows.. poor james!

I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, it is so wonderful to return to Hogwarts and to meet all the old characters again and I loved that a lot. On the other hand, the author made many choices I disagreed with and I'm not sure what I think of the plot.
