The webtoon is five stars for sure. I think this story is beutiful and I will always love these characters. I wish they wouldn’t have cut some stuff from the original but I understand the comics where aimed towards a younger audience.

The art in this book is gorgeous. The paneling was so good;it was hard to tell that this was originally a webcomic. I do have a problem with the speech bubbles and the coloring. I think it's a good idea to color code speech bubbles so the audience always knows who is talking but I think it was not executed as well as it could have been. Most of the characters have speech bubbles that are almost the same color as other characters which defeats the purpose of coloring the speech bubbles. These aren't side characters either Dorian and Mark colors are so similar that I found it very easy to confuse them.

The world building in this series is one of it's best aspects. The magic system is generic but it goes well with the story being an interesting interpretation of fairytales with witches. I love that the witches in this story have specialties which helps brings life into the magic system and gives it a more realistic feel.

Most of the non witch main characters feel like they were an after thought. I think it's important that the main crew has non witch chacters in it but the story did not do anything with them. Mark and Aisha didn't have anything to do through the entire book. If they were cut out of the book almost nothing would have had to be changed. It's hard to call them main characters because they do not have an arc and they seem more like background extras than anything else. Will in comparison is way more fleshed out with an arc and is given some interesting things to do throughout the plot of the book.

The romances in the book are either forced, developed at inappropriate times or both.
The biggest example of the coming at an inappropriate time is when Dorian is talking to Monica about how afraid he is that Dani will never be as she was ends with Dorian and Monica kissing. The conversation had nothing to do with their relationship but was instead about Dorian's relationship with his sister. So their kiss took away attention from what was supposed to be the point of the scene.

The ending of the war between witches and non magic users was fast paced and was not very satisfying. But I don't know how the author could have fixed that without compromising the point of the story which was the characters.

Over all it is a very cute story with some plot problems but great characts. I enjoyed reading it but won't be rushing to reread it anytime soon.

This whole series was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the story and the characters too. I found myself sucked into their adventures and drama quite often. The artstyle is absolutely amazing, I love all of the colors and the simplistic yet stylish style.

My only issue is that the artist draws older characters quite young so it’s very hard to gauge a character’s age. Dorian was 16 in the final book (confirmed) yet he looked and acted like he was at least 19?? And throughout the series, Mark looked like he was 17 or 18 yet he was probably only 15 or 16 initially? Made the will they won’t they with Dani quite awkward. Also Mark’s (assumed) relationship with the other princess is awkward since she is probably 19 but she looks fucking 12???? Very VERY disorienting. Mark still hot af tho. 🔥

Everything else was great and I loved all the characters anyway!!
