Leuk boekje om te lezen
Zou tof zijn verfilmd, heel filmisch geschreven: enorm "setting the scene", (op een aangename manier, niet super langdradig ofzo toch niet duidelijk welke periode dit was!!)
Mooie liefdesscènes tussen de personages

Maar ... Voelde ietsje te "young adult" voor mij, voelt alsof ik een boek lees geschreven voor een 16-jarige... Niet echt waar ik naar op zoek ben

Compulsively readable and extremely tense in spots, but the central third was the point of the story, and the rest is given short shrift. A lot of potentially very interesting / world-building information is elided throughout. A relationship in the first part reminds me a lot of parts of Juniper by Monica Furlong - except The Binding doesn't give it enough attention to have the same impact throughout the story. Expanding that relationship would have given the opportunity to share some longed-for exposition with Emmett and the reader. 

Great, but would have been far better as a much longer novel.
