This is my favorite book of the series so far. I loved Zephyr, and the whole seduction plot was so fun to read. Over time I started liking Alpha more, his conflicting feelings about her were always fun to read about.

This just was simply not my favorite. The FMC was fun and exciting, but I was hoping for better communication. The mystery subplot just didnā€™t have enough involvement until the very end, which was disappointing.

I think the book couldā€™ve had less pining and angst and more plot and communication much like the first 2 books in this series. It wouldā€™ve made me feel a lot more captivated but also make the relationship seem more legitimate

Runyx has so quickly become one of my all time favorite authors. Every book is so unique, beautiful and meaningful and they just all mean so much to me. I procrastinated writing this for a while because I wanted to do it justice in this review and I hope I do. Zephyr did what very few characters can. She made me feel seen.  This sunshine girl whoā€™s really sad sometimes but for no real reason. Just random depressive episodes. Sheā€™s s been told sheā€™s too much her entire life and she starts to believe it no matter how confident she wants to be. Zephyr is for the girls who always feel the need to apologize for taking up space and being themselves fully. Donā€™t get me wrong Zephyr never apologized to anyone for taking up space thatā€™s what was so beautiful. She empowered me to not feel the need to either. Everyone is allowed to take up space. All of us. We all deserve to be heard. It was such a beautiful message in such a beautiful character and it really moved me. Zephyr and Alphaā€™s love story is so beautiful because they are exactly what the other needs. Zephyr just needs affection and attention to bloom like a flower moving towards the sun. Alpha even when he was trying to avoid her, listened. Zephyr is such a big heart and Alphaā€™s nickname for her is truly fitting. Alpha needs love and Zephyr gives it freely. Zephyr needs love and attention and Alpha eventually gives it freely. They are just so perfect for each other. The yin to the otherā€™s yang. This entire book is an absolute masterpiece and so beautiful and moving and I just loved it so so so much. This series forever has a special place in my heart.

The plot and the characters were all wonderful and I did not see the plot twist comin as with every other book in this series. I thought Alpha was a really mysterious and cool protagonist and Zephyr was hella fun to read from the pov of. However, I found the pacing and plot development to be pretty inconsistent and kind of unrealistic. The fact that she conveniently meets alpha in the arena and he agrees to marry her 2 weeks later seemed kind of off to me. Also the development of their equation over time felt kind of rushed to me.  The pace at which the characters completely changed their opinions and frame of mind over a certain topic was pretty stupid and at times your just like "wait weren't you like 100% against this 2 minutes ago?". But its an entertaining read and doesn't fail to keep you on your toes. As always Tristan and Morana and Dante and Amara were a delight to read about again.

just when i thought there were no more secrets to be unraveled, runyx hits me with this book. when i tell yā€™all my mouth DROPPED. the twists and turns this series bring and the way all the books tie into each other just blows my mind. i canā€™t describe it. iā€™m obsessed.

i love zephyr so much. i just grew attached to everything about her. i love her nervous rambling and the fact that she cries so easily. her emotions are so strong; she feels with 1000% of her body and loves with everything she has. alpha may be a ā€œbeastā€ on the outside who claims to have a scarred heart, but i think heā€™s got more teddy bear tendencies than heā€™d like people to believe. you know, if the teddy bear also had a possessive streak and occasionally fought to the death.

i thought alpha and zephyr were both agonizing (in a good way) and adorable. the way she loved him but he couldnā€™t remember her was so painful, and witnessing zephyr deteriorate as she slowly gave up on the idea that alpha would ever love her again broke me. there were plenty of cute moments, though. idk why but i found it so sweet when zephyr would be rambling and alpha would remind her to breathe. also, when sheā€™d kiss the scar next to his mouth!!! that did it for me every time.

the end of this book was so shocking and sad. i have no idea what to expect from the annihilator but i am intrigued by the shadow man so iā€™m looking forward to it.
