Kate Morton did it again 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I read a comment that said only Kate can make houses main characters and that's true.

The imagery was amazing, so many cliff hangers and secrets to unfold.. I was not able to put this book down I had to know what happened.

Kate has a beautiful way with words, which often surprised me and made me think about a certain sentence. The story starts strong and keeps you reading but towards the end I wished a bit more insight into Cassandra’s life to understand her character development better.

There's no mystery in a book where the reader always knows more than the characters, and it's deeply frustrating to experience the same events over and over again from different POVs, already knowing the outcome. The audiobook was very well narrated though!

This is a beautiful book that is incredibly atmospheric. I felt like I was in each of the places. I loved the tie in to real people and how the story developed. It is a slow development but it is layered and worth it.
