4.5 rounded up.
Really enjoyed the plot and characters - fast paced & gripping. Read in one sitting.
It did annoy me that such a smart protagonist would make such dumb decisions though!

Brilliant. Well-crafted, engaging, with a complex protagonist and dynamic case. While some twists were predictable, they weren't assured, and I was still left guessing. Pip was a smart, capable heroine with realistic flaws.
As a nitpicky mystery reader, the only major oversights she made that slightly bothered me were walking around in the dusky woods with headphones in after being threatened, and later accepting a drink from someone she was about to accuse of murder, which feel like noticeable red flags. That said, she is a sleep-deprived senior in high school, and I'm happy to give her a pass based on her overall ingenuity and practicality.

Pippa? Honey? A little less impulsivity and a little more self-preservation, please!
So many twists and turns and suspicious people! Ravi is a national treasure!
