This is my third time re-reading this book and looking back, I can't believe that the audiobook of this book was supposed to be a background noise for me while I complete my studies. Reading it again is so sad when you know what's about to happen next. Pip and Ravi are amazing characters and Holly Jackson is a mastermind considering how she connects the triology so well.

[4/5]

second read in 2024:
it was way better this time around. it still reads a bit like pll, but i understand why. the complaint in the spoiler thing i wrote is kind of irrelevant now. i actually want to finish the rest, so i can watch the bbc adaptation in july.

[3.75/5]

this felt very much like a pll fanfaction but in an interesting way. pip and ravi actually have chemistry, which is actually a big reason why this book didn't go down hill for me. i feel like Spoilerthere was no reason to leave that cliffhanger with the second murderer. they should've just cleared that up with a couple more chapters, and then the story would have felt more rounded. idk that's all. i'll try out the second one maybe soon.

I did not expect to be so gripped by this book. Told between entries into her research project, and third person chapters about her movements, A Good Girls Guide to Murder follows Pip's attempt to uncover what really happened to Sal Sign and Andie Bell six years ago. Crime isn't really my genre, and so I was really impressed that I was gripped by this. The characters are brilliant and their relationships bring the book (and the stakes) to life. Switching between interview and chapter format kept the reading experience interesting, and the twists weren't what I was expecting. I can absolutely see why this book has swept the YA market by storm.

Love love loved this book! I first heard about it on tiktok and knew immediately the story was going to grip me - and it did. If it wasn't for sleep, I would have read the entire thing in one sitting. Cannot wait for the next!
