2nd go around thoughts: This is probably one of my least favorite volumes I've read in the series so far. There's just a lot going on and at times it feels a bit too much. Sometimes the scenes seem clogged up so I'd find myself having to backtrack to make sure I was grasping everything that happened. I still love this series though!

This took a bit of time to pick up for me and I'm almost wondering if I just prefer the anime? I love this world and the characters, but I'm not sure if the manga is the best way to consume it. I'm gonna try a few more volumes since I already own volumes 3 & 4 and see what I think from there.

Here we start to see just how deeply Bakugo's near hatred of those he perceives as lesser than him comes when he goes after Deku in the hero villain training. And we also see how much Deku is able to think ahead and out of his situations when it comes to going up against someone who he considers having a stronger quirk than him.

I've settled on a 3.5 star rating for this just because of my love for the story line, which is all the author. However, I've come to the conclusion that the manga is not as good as the anime. For one, there is a lot more swearing in the manga as well as some moments that come across as more "pervy" than they did in the anime. But there are also little, small decisions that don't change the overall story yet make the world a more likeable one.

These differences are far more apparent in this vol.2 than they were in the first, which does make reading it more engaging. It is fun to pick out the differences. But, as with the first vol., I'm not sure I would be able to follow what is happening in the action scenes without having seen the anime first, as there are a lot of missing movements.
