This book doesn’t know what it wants to be. The cover, title it all sounds like a love story. But the love story doesn’t build. It just appears- which is really terrible considering the title. “He’s hot. He’s there. Oh, now I love him” Ge was described as physically always there for her, but it’s lacking all of the conversations between meeting and falling to be a slow burn.
The book is split in far too many directions:the relationship between her and the author, her and her sister, her and her daughter, her and her old agent, her and the NEW agent…
The themes have such beautiful potential: the love of family, the journeys of grief. But it is not a slow burn romance. It’s too much wrapped up as a simple love story, and it did all of the aspects a disservice for that.

As a book lover, I was crying by the end! I mean I loved how awkward, kooky, and genuine this book is! The romance was great and palpable even from the beginning. I really just loved every aspect of the story, incredibly well done!

it was totally Fine; nothing upsetting, but nothing stellar either. i appreciated that i didn't fully expect all of the plot and was pleasantly surprised in parts, but also there wasn't a ton of depth to the main characters and thus nothing that helped me feel particularly attached to them.
audio-wise, there was nothing to denote when we were switching POVs, which made for a confusing listening experience.
