We meet Kate as she is trying to restart her acting career after her recent divorce. She sends a letter to her old agent, and his son writes back about meeting for a possible position. Charlie has taken over his dad's talent agency after his death, and he is trying to find his place in the agency world. Charlie offers Kate a unique opportunity to 'play' the author of a book planning to be published under a fake name since the original author does not want their name attached. She needs to create a new persona and social media presence. She has to go to interviews and sell the book to the best of her abilities. She loves reading and loves the book, so she accepts the job!

The drama that ensues afterwards is very entertaining and kept me on my toes. Kate's sister and brother-in-law were wonderful characters. I loved the bond between the sisters and how they were ride or die for one another. Kate and Charlie's relationship started with an 'instalove/connection,' but they did build their emotional connection before moving forward with the romantic aspect, which was nice.

There was humor, community, heartbreak, and hope all woven together in this novel!

I really liked this, but I wish it was more of a love story. I think it had so much going on, especially in the latter half, that the romance was kind of set to the side. Which is a shame because Charlie and Kate have swoon worthy potential. All in all it's another great Josie Silver novel.
