You can NEVER go wrong with Gena Showalter books… I’ve read them all and I will keep reading them all! Love the world of these books, love that each character gets their own story and you still get to visit the others. Neeka’s book was crazy, quirky, and so much fun! She is just bad-ass in the best way possible, and soft and vulnerable underneath, protected by her sass! Rathbone is kind of an idiot in the beginning, but you end up loving him in the end, his loyalty and his powers, when he finally falls in love. You should read the other books in the series to know the other characters and the plot behind all of the books.

First, I like Rathbone, but this should have been part of the LOTU series, and more focused on that, instead of forcibly inserting it here, and taking the focus away from the Astra (I really, really don’t like Azar, and if Lore is his gravita, I absolutely don’t want to read their story. Also, when will we have Hades' story?).
Second, I didn’t like the way Neeka is written. Supposedly, she’s deaf, and only learned to speak thanks to Taliyah, but… she doesn’t give me that impression. There are way too many auditory evoking words and descriptions in her POVs. She describes some sounds she –supposedly– doesn’t hear, and let’s not forget that lip-reading in some of the situations she finds herself in would be next to impossible, even for an immortal. And she’s easily distracted, which would make it even more difficult.
Third, there were a lot of funny moments, though the spice was kinda disappointing. It was a slow burn, but in the end, the sex scenes felt almost fade-to-black, so generic and underwhelming.
Finally, I hated the ending. Not with Rathbone and Neeka, their story had a HEA, but with the Astra, and the set up for the next installment. Not liking the implication that, once again, the focus would be divided, this time between Silver and Azar (who I really don’t like).

I am surprised. I thought this would be one of the Warlords…. But it is isn’t. This one is about Rathbone and Neeka. Neeka is a harpy oracle and Rathbone is the nephew of Hades and ruler of the Kingdom of Agonies. This books revolves around Azar’s task, but really follows Rathbone and Neeka more. Rathbone is trying to bring his wife back to life, and Neeka is trying to save everyone. I loved this book and how some of the characters from the Lords series were mentioned. I am so excited to see what happens next if the Warlords tasks.

Yeah, we got Rathbone's story, he's been a part of the series for a minute now, and I loved reading it!

Gena Showalter has done it again with this book! Only Gena can make a series get better with each book, and that is exactly what she did with The Wrath. The storyline and plot were classical, Gena. The writing was beautiful as always. The story and romance were woven beautifully , and one did not take over the other. I was kept on the edge of my seat and could not stop reading. There was action from page one. I adore the two MCs, Rathbone and Neeka. I am so glad that they finally have got a book. You may remember them from Lords Of The Underworld series. I love the banter between them. I could not stop laughing. I also love how two broken people come together and heal each other. There were a few twists and turns that I did not know what to expect. I have another favorite Gena couple with Rathbone and Neeka. I can not wait for the next book.
