Consider this a review of the three parts together. I loved this story. The plot was good but not so spectacular as to earn the 5 star rating - that comes from the art, the characters, the great portrayal of Korra and Asami's relationship. Everything felt perfectly in line with the characters established personalities, while also showing new growth for them. My only big criticism of the Turf Wars story arc is it should have been about 50% longer. Certain parts felt rushed, especially in part 1. It was as big a problem in 2 and 3, but I still wish it had had the budget to go for another few dozen pages. Being a graphic novel rather than a show on a major children's network, the writers could finally write Korra and Asami as the wonderful couple they were meant to be. If you enjoyed the legend of korra animated series, you need to read this.

I appreciate how well this comic draws on material from the show. The characters feel authentic, and I love the return of old concepts such as creeping crystal. I think comics are an especially great form to explore more of the Avatar universe (for all those stunning visuals and cute animal designs), and I'm very thankful that so many extra stories like this one exist!
