Always read about insecure heroines but reading an insecure hero is my first one.
It's tough to move away from the past when every step finds you within the same place. Hunter and Sam had a destiny. They were meant to be together, but life kept getting in the way. Practice Husband is a chance to start over for two people who never seemed to get it right. Hunter is so much more than his sordid past and with a helping hand from a valued friend, he has a chance to move away from the chains of prison and into the light of the real world. Sam is a bit naive, but her beautiful heart is a treasure just waiting to shine it's value. What began in heartache became an inspiring tale of hope and salvation.
This was another great book in this series!
I'm glad I didn't read any reviews on here before buying.
It is really ironic that a book about someone who struggles with perfectionism is critiqued precisely for her imperfections - it's as if the critical reviewers believe that only perfect characters deserve to be loved! She isn't annoying, she's just human, and so is he, and so is their relationship.
I always love a story about two people who are imperfect and struggling to find their way in this world who are able to love each other amidst their imperfections. This book is a great example of that. Can't wait for Chelsea's book!
Highly recommend!

Had a lot of potential. I liked the H and the mystery of whether he liked her in HS. But the constant back and forth of forcing h to do shit got old really fast. She was annoying. Why mention it if you don't want H to put it in your sissy list? Im pretty sure the author could've written it better. But oh well. I get her reluctance, sure, but do we have to read about it? And read about it repeatedly?

This was a really fun sweet read and another super read from Noelle. I just love her books and she is one of my go-to authors so I could not wait to read this one and it did not disappoint I was hooked right from the very start and ended up reading this in one sitting it is really well written and the characters were great I cannot wait to the next book.
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
Sam is another girl with security issues in which she always stands back and doesn't really fight for herself and believes that she is not the prettiest sister and that known could really like her.
Hunter Ness is Sam's high school friend and she has been in correspondence with him since he was sent to prison 2 years ago. With Pop doing a turn on her like her sister Melissa in book one, she decides to help herself and Hunter by asking him to marry her, one to get her pop of her back about it, and two so hunter can have a place to live and get a job once he is out of prison.
Both characters have issues and insecurities and although they talk things out, they don't always admit everything thereby prolonging the angst and trouble they have, when if they admitted everything quickly their troubles would have eased faster.
I did like Sam and Hunter and thought they suited each other well. Looking forward to Chelsea's story and to see if she too get married in such a way as the other two do.

This is a second-chance romance story, lovely and well-written. Sam tutored Hunter in high school and reconnected with him when he was incarcerated for two years. Now he's out and needs a job and a place to stay. Sam needs a 'practice husband' to get her grandfather off her back, so she and Hunter make a deal.
The story is first-person POV. I prefer a dual viewpoint in contemporary romances, but this was okay, though I wanted more of Hunter's POV. Sam is a perfectionist, but getting where Hunter's angst was coming from was harder.
I did love that the author included a lot of scenes from other famous books to show Sam's book nerdiness. She didn't just mention them; she incorporated them meaningfully into the story. Too many authors will put mentions of other books into their book to give a heroine book cred, but this felt like Sam understood those books and could interpret them into her own life.
