This review comes from my 9 year old boy. He claims it is one of the best books he has ever read. The humor combined with the science and the robots was right up his alley. As his mother I appreciate a smart book that still appeals to a boy his age. Thank you, Jon Scieszka.

Frank Einstein and the Antimatter Motor is a fantastic little book for both kids and adults.

Frank, a young scientist and inventor is hoping to win the Midville Science Prize with one of his inventions. Whilst trying to make intelligent robots, a thunderstorm causes a power cut and Frank believes his experiment has not worked. However while Frank is sleeping a stray spark activates the robots brain and brings it to life... Now, Frank, with the help of his two robot friends is trying to make something even bigger and better for the science prize... an antimatter motor! But someone else is out to steal Franks ideas...

I thought this was a great book for kids and adults. There are a lot of sciencey bits so it's educational whilst still being a very fun read. Franks doodles and diagrams help children to learn alongside his explanations. The plot is fast-paced and easy to follow. Watson is a great character and sidekick for Frank. And of course every book needs a villian, bring on T. Edison the child evil genius! Overall I really enjoyed the plot, characters, illustrations and writing style and would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, quick read :)

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

This is a great fun read for kids, especially those who like science and robots. It is funny (I loved the references to the old casio keyboards) and easy to read and quite educational too! The illustrations are fab. I very much enjoyed reading the book, even though I am not a child. I will now be passing it on to someone who is.

Jon Scieszka is a humorous writer of children’s books, but this is the first of his middle grade books I’ve read. I really liked it - there was his trademark humor, lovable characters (except in the case of T. Edison, the enemy!), and an interesting storyline laden with science explained in understandable terms. I’m eager to read the second in the series, and excited that kids can read these books and be interested in reading as well as science!

This is an fun and funny inventor story that adds in some history and lots of science. Plus there's a joke telling robot, so it's a win for the 5 year old

Written in the style of Wimpy Kid.
Frank Einstein is a descendant of Albert Einstein. The genius DNA has definitely stayed in the family genetic pool. Frank and his grandpa both love to tinker around and invent new things. Frank's current project for the school science fair is to create a SmartBot - a robot that can learn on it's own. As one might imagine, lots of things go wrong.
For younger students reading at a higher level, also for those who love science, engineering, robots, etc.

I wasn't a huge fan. I read it for a work assignment to see if it would be a good literacy book to go along with a science theme for our curriculum and we decided not to use it.

A great pick for young scientists, fans of funny robots, or really any young (or old) reader in need of a laugh. I loved the robot voices and the story in general although Jon Scieszka's reading took some getting used to. He paused a lot during sentences, but I did enjoy his enthusiasm and I really doubt younger readers will care. Over all, a really fun, engaging audio book.
