Good suspense, liked the interaction between Bosch and Ballard. Lots of emphasis on Bosch's age!

4 Stars. I think, so far, that the Ballard - Bosch books are my favorite Connelly books. Granted, I’m not very far into the actual Bosch books themselves.
This one brought back unpleasant memories. The Insurrection and Covid. Knowing that police aren’t able to really do their jobs and that proactive policing might be a thing of the past. Connelly laid all of that bare in this book. I look forward to see where he takes these characters next.

2021; Little, Brown and Company
Another fabulous instalment in the Renee Ballard and Harry Bosch series. It is a gritty police procedural that usually has me in the grip till the end. Bosch is one of my favourite characters, and I also like Mickey and Renee a lot. Connelly is great with character and story and this really makes for a great novel. While I suggest reading Connelly chronologically so that you can fall into the way it all develops, they can be read alone for the story.
***I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.***
