Was horrific in the way I like, however, for a short story there were tons of gaps of very little happening other than farming, which is not very spooky, and all of the characters were straight men I dislike

King can be incredibly hit and miss, but this one is a solid piece if Weird fiction. The ending harkens back to the era it takes place. You'll find similar in short stories like The Spider by Hanns Heinz Ewers, F. Marion Crawford and H.P. Lovecraft. While it has elements of the era it also has more practicality than the writers of the time which is a good blend.

This was a wonderful listen; the reader did a fantastic job. It made a great road trip story :)
I was intrigued from the first---King often has very strong openings---and that interest carried me through to the end. This story along with Misery made me clench my teeth and wince while listening to certain parts. The story has fantastic characterization, vivid descriptions that made me shift in my seat, and dark implications that made for a stellar experience overall.

Okay, so I read 1922. Didn't know what to expect. I think it was pretty interesting and I did enjoy it. I think so far this is my third(?) Stephen King book and I am excited to read more from him to really get a better feel for his work.

I think he does crazy really well, but I dont think the book was scary at all. There wasn't much suspense, and I didn't know what I wanted out of it. Regardless it was interesting and I did "enjoy" it in the end. But I didnt love it, and didnt feel like it did anything special.
