Glad this book is more like the first two. Wasn’t a fan of the 3rd or 4th books. Definitely less story. This one made up for it and had some hilarious parts and I’d love to see more from this line :)

On the list of, "That didn't go where I expected." In a good way.

I loved this. It was funny, had interesting characters. Loved the whole Satin thing and it was fun to see Michael and Gabriel have a sense of humor.

Kanika was super fun to read. She's a unique entity in this world. She has her own company, that does Whatever For Hire. It opens with her rescuing a cat (that doesn't want the help) for $50. That leads to THE Devil needing a favor ... which she turns on his head and tells him he need to PAY her.

She's absolutely hysterical, and ends up working for Satin :). She's a cheeky one. His terms are, she needs to take the next job offer she receives ... kidnapping the Black Sheep of the family and keeping him occupied for 6 months. She knows there's something fishy going on though.

She gears up at her regular shop, and completes the kidnap phase of her plan. Things kind of go sideways when she ends up back in the hospital, and Malcolm turns the tables on her. They end up looking into the Undead situation, dealing with her stalker, his ex-fiancé, and THE Devil dropping his own agenda.

Probably one of my favorites so far.

So I would have really loved some of Malcolm's point of view in this story. Especially considering there's a long period where Kanika is under the influence of pixie dust and doesn't remember what happened. Considering this book is solely in her point of view the reader doesn't know what happened then either. Additionally there are quite a few lose ends here. One we never learned the Stewart secret and as of the end of the book the curse is unbroken. If it is broken we're not aware of it. Two who are Keneka's biological parents and how did she end up with her abilities? Why were there so many men trying to buy her when no one was aware of those abilities? If Malcolm is long lived does that mean Kaneka is too? So many, many questions I'd still like answered. I also felt like we geared up for this big confrontation that happened entirely off page or didn't happen at all which definitely left me a bit disappointed. One thing I did like is Keneka doesn't claim to be in love and outright said she doesn't believe in love at first sight and isn't sure she believes in love at all. Overall I really enjoyed the story and look forward to more works by Blain. I apologize if I have names spelled wrong, I listened to this one almost entirely on audible.

Well, here is me trying to not gush too much about this book... BUT IT WAS AMAZING!
Omg, I laughed, I facepalmed and I groaned right alongside Kanika.
A nifty plot, a kickass heroine, a man who saves kittens and puppies... add the devil and a few archangels in the mix and you have yourself a hell of a book (teehee).

Worldbuilding was great and character development was seriously fun.
Pacing and flow were good and the book itself was well written.

All in all... really... just read the series, you'll love it! :D
