These short stories are retellings of fairy tales with actual animals; it had its moments where I giggled and I do want to see what the illustrations look like. I think that younger kids would love these.

I cannot express how much I hated this book. I listened to this to fulfill a prompt in the pop sugar reading challenge, and it took me 4 days to listen to a 3 hour audiobook on 1.25 speed. I give it half a star for fulfilling a prompt.

This is a book of 8 familar fairy tales doing what Gregory Maguire does best - twisting them. Really cute, quick, fun read.
