Meh..I expected much more after Fourth Wing. This just wasn’t it for me, I found the characters a bit annoying and the pacing of the story wasn’t the best either.

I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did! Coming from Fourth Wing, I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy Yarros’ contemporary romances, especially because I’ve never really read a military romance either. I just have to say, I was worrying for nothing! Yarros is an EXCELLENT author. The way she is able to weave emotions and depth into her characters and stories is truly beautiful.
I adored Izzy and Nate. I loved the duel POV chapters and the duel timeline. And the little plot twist there at the end had me flipping back to previous chapters wondering how I had managed to not pick up on the hints. Overall, this was an incredible read and I can’t wait to read all of her other books!
