Meh. I was disappointed she fell for the guy who was not very nice to her. She was kind of a pathetic character.

Reading my first review makes me laugh. I like her better now. I thought it was a cute story. I can't believe I read the rest of the series when I thought that about the first one.

Wow!! My fondness for this book really snuck up on me—my emotional investment into all of the characters developed so organically I didn’t even notice it was there. Also, the writing style was very addictive and always made me want to keep reading.

I genuinely want to see how this story continues and I’m so happy I finally picked up this book again almost a year later!

An enjoyable YA novel that made me feel some teenage girl feels that I had not felt in a long time! Very cute!

I am compelled to change my rating of this book to 4 stars after re-reading it after 4 years, but my sentimental heart won't let me haha! (edit: I did it) Emotionally, I think this book is 5 stars, because even though I didn't read this series for the first time very long ago, the characters and setting make me feel nostalgic and wistful. Objectively, I think upon re-reading this, the actual book is probably a 4-star read. I spent the entire story waiting to get to the good stuff between Peter and Lara Jean, but by the time I got to the end, I felt like the depth of their relationship wasn't explored as much as I wanted. I still think they're mad cute together, and the book was definitely un-put-down-able, but I am left wondering why they fell for each other so hard when all I really saw were tiny snippets of their banter and not very many real conversations/bonding moemnts. I thought the family dynamics were well-balanced with the romance plot. I liked that Lara Jean had such a tight bond with her sisters and seeing how their mother's death affected their characterizations and motivations. Tbh, I found both Lara Jean and Kitty to be low-key annoying during my re-read oops haha. Lara Jean is honestly kind of selfish/mean sometimes and the narrative doesn't really frame this aspect of her character to be a point of growth. She is just kind of shown doing or saying mean things sometimes.

Anyways, tl;dr, don't take this book too seriously, because in the end, it's just a super fun and cheesy YA romance. :)

I loved this even more than the movie, I can’t wait to continue this series!!
