A painfully honest book about two teenagers unsure if they are in love, about the secrets we hold tight.

Loved every second of reading this book. A thought-provoking tale of two boys coming to know each other, the world, and themselves. Even though I devoured it in a few days, captivated by the writing style, it lingered in my mind for many days, and I still sometimes wander back to this story.
I think it healed something in me.

warning: this book is written in first person
wasnt vibing with this book in the beginning, but i started to fall in love with the characters and get really invested in some of the plot threads.
no spoiler spoiler: the parents going back on all their stances at the end felt like it came a bit out of nowhere, but people do do that sometimes.
the characters feel like real people, and the pacing feels almost like it could be a biography/diary of real events.

This book was pretty good. I enjoyed the beginning of the book the most and wish that the first summer was written in more detail and in a slower pace so that I could have enjoyed it for longer. There were certain plot points that didn't feel very realistic and there were lots of holes that were simply jumped over. I think the author was trying to do too many things at once with this book and it would have been better if it took a slower pace. However, the characters were written wonderfully and they were what made me enjoy the book so much.
