My second book from Kate Morton and I am convinced that I will love every one of her novels. She has created the perfect historical fiction, centered around familial secrets and a mystery throughout.
This was a book where I felt as if life kept interrupting me everytime I had to put it down. It was comfort at its peak; Morton is a master at crafting a multi-generational story-- an absolute expert at building a climatic tale. I loved this so so much. Her characters are interesting and complex. Ugh, I just don't have the right words to describe how amazing this was.

This was SUCH a delightful read. It was a long haul, but so worth every page of this intriguing mystery. I actually managed to guess one of the twists before it was revealed, which was very rare for me, but fun! Far from a reflection on the simplicity of this story or its details; I just managed to piece one part of the puzzle together. Every character was so intriguing to follow and hear from, everyone had secrets and the most intriguing twists came out. I would highly recommend this one and I can't wait to read more of Kate Morton's work!
